xmartO Wireless Camera System Video Detection Area Edit

The xmartO wireless camera system features video motion detection. We suggest you to use the app noticification because APP can push notifications in real time with screenshots and short videos. But email alerts need to be relayed to the email server. It is not so real-time. And it will only push a screenshot without videos.Frequent sending and receiving of this kind of push mail, your mailbox may be judged by some servers as spam email address.

Here is how:

1.Click right button on mouse --> go to System Setting  --> CH Setting  --> Video detection, you shall find the options.

2. Select the channel you want to edit, select the APP Notification, then click Area edit.

3. Entering the Area edit you should see page as below picture.Area with blue coverage is being sensed. All selected by default.

Click right button on mouse you can: Select all, clear all or Return.

 4. Click left button and drag to choose area you want the camera to detect.

Tips: After selecting areas, you MUST click right button to Return – Apply the settings; or else it won’t be saved. The settings COULD TAKE SOME SECONDS TO TAKE EFFECT.

5. Test if settings are saved. After settings saved, waving hand at a distance may not trigger the notification. This is normal because the system’s algorithm is designed to avoid false alert. Waving hand near the camera’s lens, or walk into the detection area should trigger the notification; which means your area motion detection settings succeed.

My xmartO camera system cannot go ONLINE

Following the user guide, plug a network cable to the WAN port on back of NVR, within 1 minute, you shall see NVR status changes to ONLINE and the NVR is ready to be viewed from anywhere anytime.

What if my system refuses to go ONLINE?

Basic troubleshooting

1.Check if your network cable is connected to the Ehernet port of your NVR. Please make sure you plug the other side into the LAN port of your home router.

Help_center_-A3.2-_.png

If NVR is getting signal, there should be flash light. If not, please check the connection and cable.

2.If point 1 is right and NVR is OFFLINE, then it should be DHCP issue.

Help_center_-A3.1_.png

Enable DHCP on your NVR.
Click right button of mouse, go to System Setting - Network Setting - check (√) the DHCP, apply and save it. Wait for 1 minute to see if the status on bottom right corner changes to ONLINE.

3. If step 2 does not solve the issue, probably your router disabled DHCP or block new devices from connecting. What DHCP does is: when router find new device connected, DHCP allocate new IP to the device and connect it to the Internet.

An easiest way to know if your router enables DHCP

When you connect a new device to your WiFi for Internet service (or a visitor/ friend wanted WiFi connection), does it require WiFi password only? If only password required, then your router has DHCP enabled; if that requires not only password but also some settings, then your router is secured from connecting new devices. Please ask people who secured the WiFi (who set password) to enable the NVR to connect.

These 3 steps should enable 95% users to get NVR ONLINE. Even if the status shows OFFLINE after all this, we suggest you to use APP and access the device ID to see if it works.

Note: Always wait for 1 minute after any change.

Advanced troubleshooting

If the basic steps above does not solve the issue. Follow below steps to do further troubleshooting.

1.Make sure the cable you connect to NVR has Internet access.  Please use a laptop or any PC has RJ45 port

  • Disable the wireless connection of laptop.
  • Unplug the network cable from NVR and plug it into the PC, see if the PC can access the Internet via the cable.
  • If it does, then the cable is good; if it does not, change a cable.
  • If cable is good yet no Internet connection, please ask help from your network administrator to give the cable Internet access.

2.Enable DHCP of your router
Please login your router page via a browser. Find DHCP settings, ENABLE DHCP.

For more details about enabling DHCP please refer to, http://www.wikihow.com/Configure-a-Router-to-Use-DHCP

What if even DHCP does not work; or I cannot/ don’t want to use DHCP?

Well, we can allocate IP manually for the NVR and connect it to Internet.
1.Know your router gateway.
This is the IP that goes to the menu of your router.
This will vary slightly from manufacturer to manufacturer, and will be listed in the documentation.

Here are some common IP addresses for various routers:

  • Linksys, 3Com, Asus, Dell, US Robotics: 192.168.1.1
  • Qwest (AKA CenturyLink), DLink, Netgear, Trendnet, Senao: 192.168.0.1
  • Belkin, Microsoft, and SMC: 192.168.2.1
  • Apple: 10.0.1.1

If you have misplaced your documentation, and you do not see your router listed here, search on Google for your router name and "default IP address" to find the correct information.

Another way to locate your router's IP address: on a PC, open the command prompt (click on Start > Run/Search for cmd) and enter ipconfig. Look for the Default Gateway line, and try that number.

On a Macintosh, open the Network control panel (System Preferences..., Network) and look for Router: This is your router's IP address.

2. Go to NVR’s System Setting- Network Setting

Help_center_-A3.4_.png

a) Uncheck the DHCP.
b) Set the IP address to a number that follows your router gateway: for example, if your router gateway is 192.168.3.1, the IP address should be 192.168.3.ANY NUMBER( 2-254). If your router gateway is 192.168.1.1, the IP address should be 192.168.1.ANY NUMBER (2-254).
c) Set both the Gateway and Preferred DNS to your gateway.

Apply and save the settings. Wait for 1 minute to see if NVR’s status changes to ONLINE.

What if I cannot get any display on TV from the NVR system?

This is caused by resolution compatibility issue.
The default output resolution of the NVR is 1280*1024, which may not be compatible with some screens.

Here is how to solve it:

  1. Connect the NVR to any other screen via VGA; (or you may also try any other screen via HDMI to see if you can enter the menu)
  2. When you are able to see the menu, click right button on mouse, go to System Setup – General Setup – Screen Setup – VGA resolution; change it to 1080p@60; apply to save it.
  3. Connect it back your primary screen via HDMI. You should have it worked with the screen.

How to enhance WiFi connection between cameras and NVR?

While using XMARTO WiFi security camera system, customers may experience video freeze, video lag or even "no video" issue.

This is typically caused by weak WiFi signal from cameras to the NVR.

Based on 2.4Ghz WiFi, all cameras connect to the NVR's own WiFi, just like your phones/ tablets connect to your home WiFi router.

In line of sight, XMARTO WiFi cameras can be mounted 1000ft (300m) away from the NVR. The camera system handles distance very well.

However, like any WiFi devices, the cameras do not handle obstacles very well. Each wall reduces its WiFi strength noticeably.

How Obstacles Affect Your Signal Strength

When your wireless signal is transmitted through various materials, such as walls and windows, the signal strength is affected. Though the NVR and wireless camera may be very close in proximity, you could still notice high signal interference if the signal passes through certain obstacles. For instance, if the signal passes through a concrete wall it will be severely weakened. Please reference the below chart to see which obstacles highly affect your signal and which do not.

1-3.png

Based on the facts, below are some suggestions of how to optimize your cameras' WiFi connection.

1. Select a WiFi channel with least interference for your NVR

As the only hub, the NVR's WiFi performance is crucial. To select a least-interfered WiFi channel for the NVR, ensures its performance not affected by other WiFi devices.

This is how to,

A) In NVR's System setting - Network setting - WiFi setting. Click "Auto Select Channel", the NVR will automatically select a WiFi channel with least WiFi interference.

B) For Japanese customers, you can choose region MKK and channel "Other" (channel 14) to avoid some WiFi interference.

2. Place your NVR and cameras reasonably

The NVR is the only WiFi hub, all cameras are WiFi devices that need to connect to the hub. Centralize the position of the NVR so it reaches all cameras well.

Principle of placing NVR and cameras: avoid any possibly avoidable wall, in the line from NVR to cameras.

Do not place near high voltage wires or other sources of electrical interference. Electrical interference will degrade the quality of the signal.

Below are some more tips:

1-1.png

1-2.png

4.jpg

If there has to be obstacles between the NVR and camera, adjust the height of camera or NVR to avoid floor. Floors are normally heavier than walls.

1.jpg

Always find possible open between NVR and camera, mount camera and place NVR’s spot accordingly to allow signal to pass.

3.jpg

Metal walls (including metal garage gate) absorb wifi signal. Use extra extendable wifi antenna to bring camera's antenna inside the wall. This also works for heavy concrete wall.

5.jpg

Try to keep camera and NVR's antennas parallel to get better signal pick-up.

3. Bring the camera's antenna through a wall

If a camera needs to be mounted behind a wall, you may use a WiFi antenna with extension cable to pass the wall.

Search "WiFi antenna with extension cable" on retail website like Amazon, you will find a lot of options.

Mount the camera behind the wall, drill a hole, wire through the hole to bring the antenna inside the wall.

antenna.jpg

4. Take advantage of XMARTO Dream Liner WiFi Relay technology
The xmartO Dream Liner technology uses cameras in middle as repeaters. That way, further cameras connect to closer cameras 1st, and then to the NVR as a group.

The latest G3 XMARTO WiFi camera systems do it automatically.

WiFi Relay

G3 Auto WiFi Relay

Here is an article about WiFi Relay,

https://support.xmarto.com/index.php?action=artikel&cat=1&id=32&artlang=en

5. Use a WiFi camera repeater

Add an RPT20 physical WiFi camera repeater for that camera,

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086VMCTTC

6. Hard Wire Cameras
If you cannot get a camera to work via WiFi anyway, you should consider to hard wire that camera, especially when it's PTZ camera.

Do I have to have internet to use xmartO wireless kits? Is there any monthly fee?

  1. There is no monthly fee required.
  2. You don’t have to have a router to make the system work. The NVR has a built-in WiFi router enabling automatic connection to the cameras.
  3. Internet service is not mandatory. Without router & Internet service, you are able to use the system completely. You can monitor on screen, record to hard drive (not included for some models) and playback, backup video etc.

Yet if you connect the system to Internet, you will be able to view remotely from phones and PC.

Mac OS Sierra Gatekeeper stops me from installing Mac EseeCloud App. What should I do?

Below applies to Mac version older than OSX 10.12.x:
Sometimes upon opening an app you've just downloaded you might see the following error: XX is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the Trash. This is a glitch in OS X's Gatekeeper system. Gatekeeper is designed to protect you from malware but you might see this error if you update software, or attempt to run an app that you've previously downloaded and deleted in the past.

move_to_trash.png

In fact, the app isn't damaged and there's no need to delete it. The solution is as follows:

1. Open System Preferences and click the Security & Privacy icon.

2. Click the padlock icon at the bottom left to unlock System Preferences, entering your password when prompted, then ensure the General tab is selected at the top of the window.

3. Click the radio button alongside “Anywhere”, beneath the Allow Apps Downloaded From heading. You'll be warned this is insecure but, don't worry, this is only temporary.

4. Right-click the troublesome app, then select Open. Ensure the app runs for the first time.

5. Return to System Preferences, and click the radio button alongside Mac App Store and Identified Developers (or just Mac App Store, if you want total security — but this will mean you’ll need to right-click any apps you manually download in future, and right-click them and select Open).

The app is now authorized by Gatekeeper and will run fine in future.

disable-gatekeeper-mac-os-x.jpg

Below applies to Mac version OSX 10.12.x and newer:

1. Open the Terminal app from the /Applications/Utilities/ folder

terminal.png

2. Enter the following command syntax.

sudo spctl --master-disable

3. Hit return and authenticate with an admin password if needed. You’ll now be able to open and launch apps from anywhere under macOS Sierra.

3.jpg

Returning to Default Gatekeeper Security in macOS Sierra:
You can also reverse this and go back to the default strict Gatekeeper settings of only allowing apps from the Mac App Store and identified developers by issuing the following command string:

sudo spctl --master-enable

Hitting return and re-authenticating will return macOS Gatekeeper back to its strict default state of disallowing random apps from launching

How to set a closer camera as a WiFi repeater for a camera that is out of WiFi range?

UPDATE in 2021

Start from Generation 3 (NVR and camera with ver.3.0+), XMARTO WiFi camera systems come with AUTO WiFi Relay.

AUTO WiFi Relay: when a camera is having weak WiFi signal. It shall come in and out frequently. Such a camera will AUTOMATICALLY find a close-by camera as WiFi repeater, connect to that camera, thus to relay back to the NVR.

First of all, to get good WiFi connection for cameras, you should decide your NVR's location and WiFi channel well.

1. Centralize your NVR location so it reaches all cameras well.

2. Use a WiFi channel with least WiFi interference, here is how,

A) In NVR's System setting - Network setting - WiFi setting. Click "Auto Select Channel", the NVR will automatically select a WiFi channel with least WiFi interference.

Dream Liner Auto WiFi Relay

Q1: How do I know whether the Auto WiFi Relay is on?

A1: It's set on by default. Right click to enter NVR main menu - WiFi Relay, you can see the status.Make sure Auto WiFi Relay is checked.

Q2: How can I take advantage of AUTO WiFi Relay?

A2: Since it's an auto feature now, you don't need to do much setting job.

Here is our suggestions:

Before mounting your cameras, simply place all cameras where you want, plug them to power, wait up to an hour to see whether all cameras can stream smoothly to the NVR. If they do, mount them; if they don't, adjust the location of your NVR, or a certain camera, till you get a stable connection for all cameras, then mount them.

When you do the test run, most cameras shall be able to connect directly to the NVR. A certain camera that is far, or with more obstables may have weak WiFi signal to connect to the NVR. It may come in and out. When it's coming in & out, it trys connecting to the NVR as always. If it feels hard to connect, it will find an alternative - a middle camera as repeater.

This is an algorithm, it may take up to 30 minutes for the camera to form a relay chain; and suprisingly you may find it's a changing relationship. Maybe in the morning the CAM2 connects to CAM1, in the afternoon you find CAM2 connects to the NVR directly.

It's not hard to understand. WiFi signal is something invisible and changing. Maybe in the afternoon you had your iPad in your room, your NVR in the living room is less interfered, CAM2 finds the NVR itself a better hotspot to connect.

After the test run, as long as you have all cameras streaming well to the NVR, you can mount them to their tested spots. (regardless how many WiFi bars they give you)

If you do have a camera that is hard to connect after adjusting other cameras' locations, you should go ahead to mount the other cameras, then come back to this very camera.

You have 2 solutions:

1. Hard wire that camera, here is how to,

https://support.xmarto.com/?action=faq&cat=1&id=50&artlang=en

2. Add an RPT20 physical WiFi camera repeater for that camera,

Version 2 camera systems

For customers who has older version 2 camera systems, you can manually set a middle camera as a WiFi repeater. Click to see more details

Unselect the 'Motion detection siren' will disable it.

2. Enable siren while the camera is working with NVR.

How to use camera with Ethernet cable hard wire?

You may have a camera that is too far, or with too many obstacles to reach the NVR through WiFi. In such situations, you can choose to hardwire the camera.

To do so, the key is: join both the camera and NVR into the same LAN network.

1. Plug the camera to power with included power plug.

2. Use a standard CAT5/ CAT6 Ethernet cable to hardwire the camera to your router, or to a switch in your LAN network. (camera joins the LAN)

3. Connect your NVR to your home network. This should have already been done if you've connected your NVR for Internet access. Most XMARTO NVRs nowadays can connect to your WiFi wirelessly. Otherwise you can also hard wire the NVR to your router/ switch. (NVR joins the LAN)

Now, the camera and the NVR is in the same LAN network. They can recognize each other.

Below is a diagram showing you the connection map,

4. Add the camera to an NVR channel.

a) On the NVR screen, right click - Device/ Camera Manage, refresh till you see the camera listed in above box with IP 192.168...(192 IP means the camera is connected through the cable). Click the IP to select the camera.

b) Then, in below box select an empty channel. If you are changing a camera from WiFi to Ethernet, you need to delete that channel from below box to get an empty channel.

c) Click "Add One" to add the camera to channel.

The camera's IP remains to be 192.168...now, your camera is streaming and working through the Ethernet cable.

You can go ahead to mount your camera.

Why XMARTO products have a lot of negative reviews? Not look 'Perfect' like others?

This is a question from a customer.

As a product developer, manufacturer and seller, we are not supposed to discuss about this, especially on Amazon, or social media.

We don't know what brings you here. But since you are here, let's talk about this.

1. The truth is: if a product is not simple enough, it cannot recieve 'PERFECT' reviews on Amazon.

The reason is: data shows, if customers find a product fine/OK, only 1% of customers will login Amazon and leave a postive review. Well, if customers find a product terrible, over 70% customers will spend a few minutes to post a negative review.

In that case: it's simply abnormal to see a product with 'perfect' reviews, especially when it's not a simple and cheap product.

So you will see "almost perfect" reviews of Amazon Basics HDMI cable, and a lot of "terrible" reviews of Amazon's Ring video doorbell.

2. Why you see all 5-star reviews below many other brands?

If the product is not as simple as an HDMI cable, think twice before these "perfect" reviews drive you to spend money.

In all markets, there are both happy and unhappy customers. If ALL customers seem happy, there shall be 2 possibilities:

A) the seller missed a 0 from product price.

B) they are not all real customers.

"Incorrect password" while viewing XMARTO cameras from App

Access denied

"Incorrect password" while viewing XMARTO cameras from App

The XMARTO home security systems have 2-layer of security password.

1. The NVR device password (AKA the admin password)

Each time you access the NVR menu, it requires the admin password. Without a device password, users will be locked out.

Device admin password can be set when you follow the 1st time initial setup, or at any time in System setting - System admin - User

This is very important and we suggest you to set and remember your admin password at 1st time.

This device password (device lock) is local and it locks access to your NVR, no matter whether your NVR has Internet connection or not.

2. App login password

Like using any Internet service, using WallPixel App requires you to create an user account.

Your App user account is normally an email address or a phone number; and the password is the code protecting your user account.

If you don't have a WallPixel App user account, tap Register to create an user account.

The App user account is different from your device admin password. They are 2 sets of combinations.

The NVR admin password is a local password locking your NVR; the App user account password is an Internet password locking access to your WallPixel user account.

3. The connection

The connection between App user account and the NVR/ camera is based on Cloud ID.

The Cloud ID is an unique ID number of a XMARTO NVR or camera. On most NVRs/ cameras, you can find a QR code indicating the device's Cloud ID. You can also find the Cloud ID on NVR screen's below right corner.

To access the Cloud ID corresponding device, you need to provide the device password. Without the password, you will be locked out.

As advised in the manual, when you add the NVR/ Camera to the App, you are lead to provide the admin password,

The password here refers to the NVR/ camera's admin password, not the App user password.

Provide your admin password, you will be able to view the cameras remotely from the App.

If you are an authorized user by the administrator, provide your user name and your password.

4. Update device password

If you've changed your admin password lately, you need to update it to the App.

=>   =>

A few important tips

  1. The default password
If you skip setting a password for your NVR or camera, then the default password is empty.
You leave the password area empty and tap next to view the cameras or access the menu.

That also means, theoretically anyone who knows your Cloud ID can access the NVR/ camera. (although no one will know your Cloud ID unless you show them). So it is strongly suggested to set an admin password; as soon as you start to use the XMARTO NVR/ camera.

    2. Secondary users

If you are running a store, an office etc; in the System setting - System admin - User setting, you can add a few users with secondary permissions.

Then give those secondary user accounts to your employees. For example, you added user "JohnWayne" with password "batman".

When he try to access the NVR's screen, he needs to change the username from "admin" to "JohnWayne", then enter password "batman" to access the NVR menu.

Same thing in the App. Obviously John Wayne needs to create his own App user account with his own email or phone #.

Then when he add the NVR system or camera to App, he input or scan the Cloud ID, provide his own NVR/Camera access combination, to access the NVR/ camera, with your nominated permissions only.

   3. That sounds way too complicated. "I'd simply let my families know my Cloud ID and admin password so they can view"

Not suggested. Logically, the WallPixel Cloud will take the 1st App user who added the Cloud ID as the owner.

If you have a 2nd or 3rd user adding the same Cloud ID as admin, 1 or few of you may miss some features, such as the App notifications.

The correct way is to use the Sharing feature.

a) let your families download and install WallPixel App, then create his/ her own App user account.

b) in the App, tap sharing, set sharing perimissions and valid time. Then send the QR code to your families.

c) In WallPixel App, your families scan the QR codes to add the camera/ system.  (no matter where they are)

   4. "My XMARTO security system have 4 cameras and a NVR. Does that mean I have 5 Cloud IDs?"
No, when you use a XMARTO camera system, the App only takes the whole system as a single device; so it recognize only the NVR's Cloud ID; and let you view 4 to 10 cameras simultaneously in App, just like what you see on the NVR's screen.

Privacy tips

  1. Does XMARTO know my device admin password?
No we don't. The device password is a local password you set in the initial setup. We cannot know that.
If you forgot the password, the only way is to hard reset it.
About how to reset password, please contact support@xmarto.com
The hard reset can be done only by yourself, with the hardware in hand.

  2. Does XMARTO know my App user password?
No we don't. Any App attempts to collect user's password will not be approved by App Store or Google Play.
If you forgot the App user password, the only way is to tap "Forget password" and follow steps to reset password, or simply create another user account.

  3. If someone hacks my App user account, what should I do?
That never happened. But if you believe someone hacked your App user account, the 1st thing to do is tap "Forget password" in App to reset your user password; or contact support@xmarto.com to know how-to hard reset your device password. Any of the 2 password reset will lock the access immediately.

For standalone cameras, please change the device password in device setting; or hold reset button to reset the camera and set it up again.
For NVR or NVR systems, the way of hard resetting password is not public. Please contact support team with your order # to learn how to reset NVR admin password.

Relax, it's almost impossible to happen.

If you have any further question, please contact support team via support@xmarto.com

[iOS] Why my XMARTO WiFi camera refuses to connect to my WiFi?

Lately some customers cannot complete XMARTO WiFi cameras setup on iOS.

What's causing this?

Along with iOS updates, the iOS 15 gets smarter.

In WiFi aspect, if you try to connect to a WiFi hotspot that does not have Internet access, iOS refuses to connect.

This, brings some issues to setup XMARTO WiFi cameras with the iOS App.

The theory of wireless setup is:

  1. Connect your iPhone to the camera's WiFi, to build a connection from your phone to your camera.
  2. Then, from the WallPixel App, send your home WiFi information to the camera, so the camera connects to your home WiFi.

With the iOS new strategy, well, it refuses to connect to the camera's WiFi, because iOS indentify the camera's WiFi as "no Internet WiFi".

That way, you could not complete step 1, and you certainly does not move on to step 2.

How to resolve this?

While connect your iPhone to camera's WiFi, easily revise the DNS to enable iPhone to connect.

  1. Follow the App advice to connect your phone to camera's WiFi IPCxxxxxx (with password 11111111).

The WiFi icon will display on top bar if you are successfully connected; go ahead and return to WallPixel App to finish setup.

If the WiFi icon does not display on top bar, even the iPhone shows it's successfully connected to the IPCxxxxx WiFi, tap the i icon behind the WiFi

2. Tap " Configure DNS" , change the DNS from "Automatic" to "Manual"

3. Tap "Add Server", enter: 8.8.8.8 (a Google DNS), then tap "Save"

4. You shall see the WiFi icon shows up on the top bar, which means your iPhone is now connected to the camera's WiFi.

Now, return to the WallPixel App to finish setup.

-

Here is the video of WiFi camera wireless setup,

https://www.amazon.com/vdp/02b0f811f30a41bfb3cb56c4fc27f1f8?ref=dp_vse_ibvc0

-

Other reasons may cause failed wireless setup:

  • Why I cannot connect this to my WiFi, even I followed all steps?

1. To ensure WiFi distance, the camera works on 2.4GHz WiFi. (5GHz has wider band-width, but worse wall penetration and WiFi distance.) Nowadays, many WiFi routers combines 2.4G and 5G to a single WiFi hotspot. So when you follow the App steps to connect the camera to your only WiFi hotspot, it may try to connect to the 5G and failed to connect.

2. If you cannot finish setup wirelessly, please use the included LAN cable to connect the camera to your router, add device then simply "Scan the LAN" to add the camera to App. Go to camera's setting to connect it to WiFi, then you can unplug cable.

  • If need any help, please contact customer support team: support@xmarto.com

=>   =>

=>   =>

How to switch XMARTO solar/ battery-powered security cameras to 24/7 Mode?

Battery/ solar-powered cameras are designed to work on motion-triggered base.

If at a certain spot you need a 24/7 camera, you can purchase any XMARTO plug-in WiFi camera, to work standlone, or add-on to the NVR.

-

There is still a way to make your solar/ battery camera to work 24/7.

  1. Use a 5V 1A/ 2A phone charger and a USB type-C cable to plug the camera to a wall outlet so it gets constant power.

    2. In NVR's menu, right click - Camera manage - Manual Edit

    3. In Power Management setting, change the power mode from Best recording to Plug-in Continous Recording; click OK and save the setting.

Now your solar/ battery-powered security cameras is working and recording 24/7.

--

If your NVR is a mini NVR with newer generation software, the setting is even simple.

You can simply set the record mode in Camera settings,

--

If you are using the XMARTO solar/ battery camera standalone, you can find the record mode setting in the App - Camera's settings.

Important tips in this mode:

  1. Please keep the camera plugged to power all the time. If not, the solar/ battery power will run out fast and you will lose image. In other words, the solar and batteries do not have enough power to support the camera 24/7. 24/7 working mode requires constant power.
  2. As always, plug-in power will affect the longevity of batteries. So for 24/7 record purpose, we recommend XMARTO plug-in WiFi cameras.

G3 Auto WiFi Relay

Here is an article about WiFi Relay,

https://support.xmarto.com/index.php?action=artikel&cat=1&id=32&artlang=en

5. Use a WiFi camera repeater

Add an RPT20 physical WiFi camera repeater for that camera,

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086VMCTTC

6. Hard Wire Cameras
If you cannot get a camera to work via WiFi anyway, you should consider to hard wire that camera, especially when it's PTZ camera.

2. Add an RPT20 physical WiFi camera repeater for that camera,

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086VMCTTC

Version 2 camera systems

For customers who has older version 2 camera systems, you can manually set a middle camera as a WiFi repeater. Click to see more details

=>   =>

How to setup the WT series PTZ Cameras? (WT2054, WT20512)

Preparations

Install xmartO App and register an user account

Scan the QR code in manual, or search xmartO WallPixel in App stores to find xmartO WallPixel App. Install the App and create an user account.

There a 2 ways to setup the WT series WiFi cameras.

  1. Setup with an Ethernet cable. Connect the camera to your router with an Ethernet port, run App to find the camera and connect it to your WiFi. (easier way)
  2. Setup through WiFi without a cable. Bring camera to configure mode, connect your phone to the camera's WiFi, then follow on screen guide to pair the camera to your home WiFi step by step.

Setup with an Ethernet cable (if you have an Ethernet cable )

  1. Bring the camera close to your home router, use the included 12V power adapter to plug the camera to power, use an Ethernet cable to plug your camera to any of your router’s LAN ports. (配接线图, IPC发出声音)
Wait for the camera voice message tells you 'Start configuration mode'. If it does not, hold the reset button 5 seconds to reset the camera.
  2. Run the xmartO WallPixel App, on right above corner tap + icon, select “WiFi Camera - Bullet Type”. Choose “YES” while asked whether the camera has Ethernet port; tap “Connected” for the connection advice.
  3. You will see the Device ID listed out, tap the ID to continue. The App will list out all available WiFi. Select your WiFi and provide password. Tap next the camera will start to connect.
  4. When it's connected, name the camera and set a camera password. The setup is done.
  5. You can unplug the camera’s cable and mount it where you want. Try if it works there before mounting it permanently. If it cannot connect, move the camera to a spot that has less obstacles to your WiFi router.

Setup through WiFi

(In case you don’t have an Ethernet cable or inconvenient to hook camera to router)

a) Bring the camera close to your home router, use the included 12V power adapter to plug the camera to power.

b) Wait for the camera voice message tells you Start configuration mode. If it does not, hold the reset button for 5 second to bring the camera to configuration mode.

Tips: the blinking LED indicator on camera tail also indicates the camera is in configuration mode.

c) On your phone, start xmartO App - tap the + icon to start adding camera. Select WiFi Camera - Bullet Type.

d) Tap NO when asked whether the camera has an Ethernet port.

Tips: although it actually has an Ethernet port, but YES would lead you to adding camera with a wire. So we choose NO here.

e) When asked whether the LED indicator is blinking, check the camera tail for that and tap YES if it is.

f) It tells you to go to your phone's WiFi setting to connect to the camera's WiFi. Go ahead to return to your phone's home screen, go to your phone's Setting, find the Wi-Fi setting, connect to the WiFi IPCxxxxxxxx. If it askes for password to connect to that WiFi, input 11111111 (8 times 1).

Tips: Android phone may ask if you are sure to connect, select yes. Wait a few seconds till the WiFi icon shows again on the top of your phone. That means it successfully connected to the camera's WiFi.

g) Now, swip up or double click home button to find your multi tasks. Return to the xmartO App. The App will automatically move forward to WiFi list. Select your WiFi and provide WiFi password, tap Next the camera will start to connect to your WiFi.

h) Set a password and name your camera. It's done. Now you can unplug the camera and mount it to where you want.

Tips: as a WiFi camera, it has to work within the WiFi range. Before mounting to the wall, connect the camera to power at the mounting spot, wait for a minute to see if it connects and streams well in the App. (a solid green LED indicator on the tail means it's connected)

=>   =>
